The Wilson Local Food Collaborative is a once-a-month gathering that connects our community directly to the farmers, bakers, and food makers who grow and craft real food right here at home. Modeled after the Wake Forest Local Food Collaborative, this event creates a simple, consistent space to pick up fresh, seasonal foods, support small local producers, and build relationships around the table. Join us on the 1st Sunday of every month from 4–5pm at Casita Brewing Company (217 S Street, Wilson) to shop local, meet your farmers, and be part of a growing movement to strengthen our local food system — one month at a time.

You can get on the email list to receive a email the Wednesday before each drop HERE

Meet The Farmers & Producers

Back to Basics Ranch is a regenerative family farm in Henderson, North Carolina, founded in 2017 out of a simple conviction: our food should nourish our bodies, honor the land, and glorify God’s design. What began as a homestead has grown into a mission to restore integrity, nutrition, and stewardship to our food system.

Using rotational grazing and time-tested regenerative practices inspired by farms like Polyface, we raise 100% grass-fed, grass-finished beef and lambpastured poultry and turkeywoodland-raised porkpastured eggs, and raw A2/A2 Jersey milk. Our animals are raised without vaccines, antibiotics, pesticides, or chemical fertilizers—ever. Pigs and chickens receive a local, organic, soy-free grain from Sunrise Farms in Virginia, a Mennonite-owned farm with quarterly third-party testing to ensure it is pesticide-free (results available upon request).

We believe God has already provided everything needed for healthy soil, healthy animals, and healthy people. Our commitment to stewardship continues into the next generation—our daughter was selected as a Steward at Polyface Farms and recently returned from a five-month internship, bringing home practical knowledge she is eager to implement here on the ranch.

At Back to Basics Ranch, our hope is simple: to rebuild soil, restore health, and provide truly nourishing food for families today and generations to come.

Ample Farm, a small regenerative farm in Ayden, North Carolina, is committed to raising honest food and stewarding the land God has entrusted to us.

We raise grass-fed, grass-finished beef, and pasture-raised chicken – all without shortcuts, synthetic inputs, or gimmicks.  But more than that, we’re building something that matters: a farm rooted in faith, family, and a long term vision of restoration.

Our days are full; tending to animals, moving fencing, growing pasture, and caring for our Land, often with the help of our kids by our side.  This work is hard, but it’s good.  And we consider it a privilege to do it for our community.

The name “Ample” reflects what we believe the land can be when it’s cared for rightly; abundant, life-giving, and enough.  It also reflects the kind of life we want to cultivate: one of generosity, margin and purpose.  there’s enough here – for us, for our animals and four our neighbors – when we steward it well.

We farm because we believe God calls us to take dominion over the land; not by dominating it, but by tending it faithfully.  Everything we do is Soli Deo Gloria – for the glory of God alone.

We’re thankful for every customer who chooses to support our farm.  When you buy from us, you’re not just getting nutrient dense food, you’re investing in something that matters.

We’re glad you’re here and we’d be honored to be your farmers.

Bear Fruit Bakery – Hello  We are Bear Fruit Bakery, a cottage bakery located in Goldsboro, NC. We provide our community with sourdough and fresh-milled breads and baked goods made with organic and thoughtfully sourced ingredients you can recognize and pronounce. Our heart is to bring people together around the table.

Dogwood Coffee Roasters began three years ago when we started roasting our own beans over a gas grill with just a rotisserie basket. Today, we are a local micro-roastery using professional equipment to craft small-batch, specialty coffee. As a husband and wife team, we source ethically grown, fair trade beans, paying close attention to every detail from the farmer to the cup. More than just flavor, we love how coffee brings people together—pulling up a seat and sharing a great cup of coffee and conversation with a friend.

Stone House Farms – Stone House Farms, a regenerative farm nestled in Red Oak, North Carolina, just outside Raleigh. Our family has over 70 years of farming experience, and we’re dedicated to producing the highest quality, grass-fed, and grass-finished beef.We practice regenerative farming methods that enrich the land, improve biodiversity, and mitigate climate change. Our cattle graze on a diverse mix of multi-species cover crops, ensuring they receive a healthy, nutrient-packed diet. We also prioritize animal health and well-being, using rotational grazing, ensuring no antibiotics or hormones are used.

Lindsay’s Custom Baking – Lindsay, a former  teacher who is now a stay-at-home, homeschooling mom.  She lives in Wilson with her husband, Patrick and their three children.  She loves cooking, baking, and sharing her skills with others.  Lindsay also works at their non-profit, Community Life Training (CLT) as the Curriculum Coordinator.  It is a great opportunity to not only learn new skills, but to share what she knows with others.

As the mother of a child with a rare genetic disorder, Lindsay has done a lot of research into nutrition and healthy living.  She strives to use all clean, natural ingredients in her foods.  She has also extensive experience cooking for those with gluten sensitivities and other allergies.  Lindsay is excited to share her baking with Wilson and the surrounding communities!

Tomlinson Farms – We are a small, family farm that uses regenerative practices to raise seasonal produce and livestock to create better quality products and soils. Our main goal is to create a product that is not only better for you, but also better for the environment and better for our soils. We want to hand down our farm to the next generation in better shape than we received it. We rotationally graze our laying hens, pigs and broilers. We use no till and minimum till for our vegetable. Our vegetables are always pesticide freenerations.

Honey & Wild Co. is rooted in the simple belief that the best remedies come from nature — and from home. Crafted in the heart of Wilson, our organic elderberry syrup is made in small batches using pure ingredients, raw honey, and time-honored herbal traditions. Every bottle is thoughtfully prepared to support your family’s wellness in a way that feels both powerful and gentle — just as nature intended. We believe health should be wholesome, local, and a little bit wild. What started as a kitchen remedy has grown into a mission: to bring clean, nourishing herbal support to our community and beyond. From immune-boosting elderberry to future botanical blends, everything we create is rooted in integrity, simplicity, and the sweet goodness of raw honey.

Abundant Life Farm, Bethel NC – Abundant Life Farm is a small farm that focuses on producing organic and heirloom vegetables. We are Jesus-loving farmers who believe we are caretakers of the soil for future generations. Because of that, we practice regenerative agriculture to build up the soil and attempt to limit our footprint by using biodegradable pots and bags. In April & May we have seedlings available for purchase. Weather dependent, we offer a variety of seasonal vegetables from May to August. Due to the natural variability and ripeness of our produce, items are available for same-day purchase only and are not listed online.

Mary Lee Farms is a family-run farm built on tradition, hard work, and a shared love for dairy farming. My dad and I run the farm together, carrying on values that have been passed down through generations. The farm was named in honor of my grandmother, Mary Lee, whose name remains a meaningful part of everything we do.

Our love for dairy cows began through a close friendship my dad formed with an Amish farmer, whose influence introduced us to the world of dairy cattle and the simple, hardworking lifestyle that still shapes our farm today. Over the years, Jersey cows became the heart of our operation, and caring for them has become both our livelihood and our passion.

At Mary Lee Farms, we focus on producing quality farm products with a traditional approach, including raw milk, fresh butter, farm eggs, and Amish handcrafted cheeses through our Old Order Heritage line. From daily milking to caring for our herd, every part of the farm reflects our commitment to family, quality, and preserving a way of life we deeply value.
