The Best Quick Pizza Crust
This is the non meal planner's dream pizza crust. It's 4pm and you have no plan for dinner? No problem! Use all organic ingredients to make this even more healthy.
Ingredients
- 2-2 1/2 cups AP flour
- 2 1/4 teaspoon yeast
- 1 1/2 teaspoon honey
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp avocado or olive oil
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 1 tbsp melted butter
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- Healthy pinch salt
- Herbs if you fancy
Instructions
- Mix together 1 cup of flour, yeast, honey and salt in a mixer or bowl.
- Add oil and water and stir
- Let sit for 5-10 minutes (it should be bubbly)
- Add dough hook and add the additional cup to cup and a half of flour. The dough will pull away from the sides of the bowl (if doubling or tripling add the flour 1 cup at a time)
- Oil a large bowl (or the mixing bowl) and your hands and spread up sides and on dough
- Cover and let it rise for at least 30 minutes to an hour depending on how much time you have.
- When it's ready melt the butter, minced garlic, salt and herbs if you fancy.
- Spread dough in pizza pan or cookie sheet, poke holes with a folk all over and add garlic butter all over the crust.
- Top with sauce, cheese and toppings and bake at 425 for about 15 minutes
Notes
I always triple it to make 3 nice size pizzas and there is always leftovers. You can also wrap the dough and it stores in the fridge for a few days. Let it warm before you try to spread it out.
I absolutely hate it when bloggers talk and talk about things before sharing the recipe so I am adding it right away. If you are interested in some other ways I use this crust read on!
How to make this pizza even better
I do not use crappy pepperoni or ingredients with a ton of added garbage in them. Make your own sausage with locally sourced ground pork, add all the garden veggies (or organic ones from the store) and to take it to the next level make a dip. The picture above is freshly made pesto as a drizzle (ok I am more than drizzling it but whatever)
The kids love homemade ranch to dip it in. Another way I have used this crust is to make a healthy hand pie. Just roll it out to your desired size, add some sauce, cheese and toppings and fold over and seal tightly. You can even do ham and cheese! The kids love it!
This recipe for the best quick pizza crust is fast and completely customizable. Please give it 5 stars if you love it!
