Meet Sabrina

Hello there! I’m Sabrina, mom of 4, city girl turned unexpected gardener. Join me as I figure out how to gain food freedom and show you how to be more self sufficient! Read more about me here.

The Unexpected Gardener
The Unexpected Gardener

You don’t need a huge amount of land or animals to live a homestead life. The modern definition of homesteader is “lifestyle of self sufficiency” and we will talk about all things that make you get closer to that. I’m a city girl that learned self sufficiency skills and I am determined to start a food revolution, teaching others to start right where you are.
Things could get salty as we explore topics like gardening, sourdough, the broken food system and breaking free of the system that wants to keep us obedient.

Can you feel it? The shift? Something is happeni Can you feel it?

The shift?

Something is happening and I know I can’t be the only one that feels it.

I’m not going to disappear from here. I have many of you that I’ve grown to love and I know I need to share what I’m doing here and on @restorationfarmnc and @wake_forest_local_food but being an “influencer” has lost its appeal.

I don’t know exactly what’s coming but I feel it in my bones that we need to build right now.

Build the community where you live. Build something that will provide when people need help, that will be a safe landing spot when people need it, a place where people can hear about Jesus and grow in faith, a place where the broken can come to be cared for.

It doesn’t need to be fancy or huge. It could be your front porch, your dining room table or at your church.

Build it.
@perennialgardensnc is installing The Gathering Gr @perennialgardensnc is installing The Gathering Grove on November 1st and he will need help! We would love to see you at the farm! @restorationfarmnc

We are still hoping to get some cherry tree donations and a few others.

I bought a peach and plum tree, 3 blueberry bushes today and ordered some blackberry, blueberry and raspberry plants too so we have a good start.

The Gathering Grove is going to be a beautiful permaculture section of the farm that will be bursting with fruit trees, berries and figs.

The Gathering Grove will be a place for people to spend time connecting with nature, learn about permaculture, fellowship and gather and just imagine how much the community will benefit from all the fruit!

Let me know if you can come help or to donate some trees/plants. Thank you! You always show up 🧡

Every plant helps us create a thriving space for the community to gather and grow.

If you have a contact that might be willing to donate please let me know!

I keep getting this feeling that we are all gettin I keep getting this feeling that we are all getting comfortable again.

I don’t say this to strike fear into anyone, I say it because it’s true. And I want everyone to have access to clean, GOOD food for their families.

That’s why I started @wake_forest_local_food in 2022. Partly for selfish reasons so I didn’t have to drive to all the separate farms but also so everyone could have the same benefits that I wanted to cultivate for my family.

I never turned this into a business. I don’t charge anyone to be a part of it. I don’t make money off the sales or anything like that.

It’s truly a labor of love. Love for the farmers and for this community.

If you want to check it out, we meet this Sunday at @vitalitychiropracticnc from 4-5pm. If you want to get on the email list check out my link in bio or shoot me a DM.
@soil3organiccompost came through again with a don @soil3organiccompost came through again with a donation of their amazing veggie mix/compost for @restorationfarmnc

They donated big yellow bags when we first started setting up the summer garden and now they have done it again for today’s volunteer day to expand and freshen the garden for fall.

Their Big Yellow Bags are on sale right now and you can stack my coupon for an extra $5 off. I use their soil to amend beds because of the organic compost!
